How to choose the report output email attachments for a Scheduled Report

Scheduled reports allow for attaching multiple file types (PDF, Excel, RDL output) generated from the report, these can be defined per Scheduled report.

Note: Email size limits may be hit if multiple file types of the same report are attached. Either reduce filter ranges or exclude certain file types using the ‘Include file' checkboxes for the scheduled report.

  1. Navigate to Scheduled reports page and edit an existing Scheduled report or add a new Scheduled report.

    1. Fill out the necessary fields to send the report and the ‘Filter values’ as required. See How to configure a scheduled report for more information.

  2. Choose from the following options for which files should be included in the Scheduled report email:

    1. Include Excel file - If true, the generated Excel file will be attached to the email.

    2. Include Pdf File - If true, the generated Pdf file will be attached in the email when the report is an RDL.

    3. Include Rdl Output File - If true, the 'RDL Report Output Format' defined for the report will be attached in the email.

      1. The file output is defined in the Reports (Administration) page for RDL reports in the ‘RDL Report output format’ field.

  3. Click 'Save' to confirm all changes.

The following table shows what file attachments will be included based upon the combination of checkboxes used and the RDL output format defined for the RDL report.

Note: For excel reports that contain a tab named pdf, the Include PDF checkbox will be ignored. See How to configure a scheduled report for more information.
