How to configure a peak list

Peak lists can be used to setup pricing according to a specific period, for example, night time, special events, public holidays, weekends etc.
A peak list defines for all days of the week, whether the regular rate applies or a special rate. The list is automatically repeated every week, starting at the given valid from date, and until it is superseded by another peak list for that same category.

Setting up a peak category and its peak category values

The category represents the type of special rate to be applied.
In this example, a peak list is being created in order to setup pricing for the 'Handling Surcharge' (product) to be applied when an Aircraft is handled at night.
The peak category 'Handling Surcharge' is being created. The category values being assigned are: Day and Night

To create a peak list, go to ‘Administration > ‘Station’ (1) > ‘Peak categories’ (2) and use the 'add new' button to create the peak category (3).

Once the peak category is created, in this case 'Handling Surcharge', the 'peak category values' can be added.
For this example only the categories 'Day' & 'Night' are required, in order to define which times during the day are defined as 'Day' and which should be 'Night'.

Creating the Peak List(s)

Once the peak categories have been created, remain in 'Administration’ and go to 'Peak Lists' (1)
Use the 'Add new' button, and in the field 'Peak category' select the category just created. For this example 'Handling Surcharge'. Add the 'Station' (or 'Station Group', in some cases) for which the Peak List is being created (2).
Finally, add the date from which the Peak List is to be valid (3).

Next, the Peak List itself is defined, under the section 'list items'.
NOTE: Whether the default times used by the FBO/User are UTC or LT, the Peak List timings are always added in Local Time.

The days of the week are defined using the numbers 0-6.
Sunday = 0 / Monday = 1 / Tuesday = 2 / Wednesday = 3 / Thursday = 4 / Friday = 5 / Saturday = 6

The timings must be added in the format hh:mm (e.g. 00:55)

The list should always begin at midnight on Sunday and the appropriate peak category should be assigned to this time.
For this example, Midnight on a Sunday is classified as 'Night'

Example Scenario:

  • A Handling Surcharge is applied during Night Hours
  • During the Winter months each year, 01-November - 30-April, Night hours begin at 1900 and end at 0600
  • During the Summer months each year, 01-May - 31-October, Night hours begin at 2000 and end at 0500

The above Example Scenario requires the creation of two separate Peak Lists.
To begin, the Summer Peak list is created. The times at which Day and Night begin, must be defined for each day. As the first time added was Sunday at midnight, the next must be sequential, and will be Sunday, at 0500 when night turns to day. The list continues as follows:

Next, the Peak List for Winter must be created.
A second list must be added, this time the 'Valid from date' will be 01-Nov-16. This means that the first list (Valid from 1-May-16)  will be active until 1-Nov-16 and then cease to be active as of this date.

The list to be valid as of 1-Nov-16 is compiled as follows:

NOTE: If these peak lists are applicable for the same times each year, new lists must be created. i.e. the next list to follow on from the above example, will be the summer peak list valid from 1-May-2017. To make it easy to re-create similar or matching peak lists, the 'copy' button is available. For this example, the 'copy' button against the 'Handling Surcharge' list valid from 1-May-2016 is copied:

The copied list has a 'Valid from date' of 31-Dec-2999, but is an exact copy of the copied Peak List

Use the 'edit' button to correct the 'valid from date' on the new Peak List:

Use the peak list to define price agreements

The price agreements in this case are used to compile the Handling Surcharge rates.

During hours considered 'Day' (as outlined in the above lists), there is no surcharge. The price agreement therefore uses the fields 'Movement type' set to 'Either Arrival or Departure' and 'Peak category' set to 'Day' with the price 0.00.

Arrivals or Departures during Night hours incur a surcharge of 75.00. The 'Movement type' field is set to 'Either Arrival or Departure' and the 'Peak Category' field is set to 'Night'. A price of 75.00 is then added. The price agreements for Handling Surcharge then look like this:
