Rename protection for Organizations, Registrations and Types - An extra layer of confirmation and security

To ensure that master data is kept current and correct and to prevent accidental changes, an extra layer of confirmation and security is in place to prompt the user that renaming an organization/contact, aircraft registration or type may have an impact on a number of Orders.

Creating a new record is usually the best course of action instead of renaming and is the safest way to ensure that no previous Orders or related Orders are effected by any changes.

Rename protection for Organizations/Contacts

Found when editing a contact and in the Organization contact details screen the 'Rename' function prevents the accidental rename of contacts.

  • When editing a contact, the 'Organization name' and 'Short name' are automatically locked for editing.
  • Clicking 'Rename organization' unlocks the fields for editing with extra user confirmation in a separate screen.

  • Once 'Rename organization' is clicked, the user is redirected to a confirmation page to update the existing 'Name' and 'Short Name' and add the confirmation code that directly corresponds to the amount of Orders the rename will impact. If the confirmation code does not match, the rename is denied.
  • A direct link to create a new contact is also provided.

Note: A direct short-cut to rename the 'Organization name' and 'Short name' is also found in the Organization details screen.

Rename protection for Aircraft Registrations

Found when editing an aircraft registration and in the Aircraft registration details screen the 'Rename' function prevents accidental rename of aircraft registrations.

  • When editing an aircraft registration, the 'Registration Code' and 'Aircraft type' are automatically locked for editing.
  • Clicking 'Rename registration' unlocks the fields for editing with extra user confirmation in a separate screen.

  • Once 'Rename registration' is clicked, the user is redirected to a confirmation page to update the 'Registration code' and 'Aircraft type' and add the confirmation code that directly corresponds to the amount of Orders the rename will impact. If the confirmation code does not match, the rename is denied.
  • A direct link to create a new aircraft registration is also provided.

Note: A direct short-cut to rename the 'Registration Code' and change the 'Aircraft type' is also found in the Aircraft registration details screen.

Rename protection for Aircraft Types

Found when editing an aircraft type and in the Aircraft type details screen the 'Rename' function prevents accidental rename of aircraft types.

  • When editing an aircraft type, the 'Shortname', 'ICAO code' and 'IATA code' are automatically locked for editing.
  • Clicking 'Rename aircraft type' unlocks the fields for editing with extra user confirmation in a separate screen.

  • Once 'Rename aircraft type' is clicked, the user is redirected to a confirmation page to update the 'Short Name', 'ICAO code' and 'IATA code' and add the confirmation code that directly corresponds to the amount of Orders the rename will impact. If the confirmation code does not match, the rename is denied.
  • A direct link to create a new aircraft type is also provided.

Note: A direct short-cut to rename the 'Shortname', 'ICAO code' and 'IATA code' is also found in the Aircraft type details screen.
