How to create report with formula columns based on a Report Builder template

Quick summary:
  1. Go to Administration | Reports and create a daily flight summary report
  2. Add a query and a few columns
  3. Download the RDL template and open it in report builder
  4. Add missing formula columns to the report and their formulas as well 
  5. Insert image and add a pleasent layout to the report
  6. Upload the template back into the report
  7. Download the report from FBO One in the Reports Page and export it to excel

Download the RDL template and open it in report builder

After downloading the report template document and opening it in Report Builder, it looks like in the image below (2 data sets and 2 default created tables):

Add missing formula columns to the report and their formulas as well 

As already noticeable from the picture above, of the freshly generated report template, although the formula columns were added in the report administration section, these do not appear at all in the template and therefor must be added manually.

Inserting a new column into the generated report table is done by right clicking the column before or after the new column should appear and insert it:

Create the concatenate expression by choosing a field from the data set, select the operation type and double click it, add a separator and then select another field from the data set

                    

Clicking the OK button will save the expression (formula) to that particular column.

FOP column will contain a conditional value based on the provided FOP value. If the FOP provided value will state "BILL USD" it will display CASH, otherwise it will display ACCOUNT:

Creating a nicer way to display the date value is a also a matter of expressions. The following expression will force the parameter value to be displayed in the given date format:

Adding different background colors for alternating rows can also be specified in the expression section of the table row background color setting:

Insert image and add a pleasant layout to the report

Inserting an image into the report template is quite easy. All the user needs to do is right click the area where he wants to inset the image and select insert image from the context menu

Upload the template back into the report

In order to upload the report template the "Upload template" link in the report administration section must be clicked

A new page is being loaded were the upload of the template file and automatic assignment to the selected report can be done

By clicking on the OK button the user will be redirected to report administration page and the new template is going to be attached to the desired report definition

Download the report from FBO One in the Reports Page and export it to excel

In order to view and also download into Excel or PDF the desired report, users can click the "View report" link or follow the menu by clicking on reports and searching for the desired report

The filter parameter screen will appear after selecting the desired report:

By clicking the "download report" button the report viewer pop up  page will appear, depicting the report within the uploaded template

Exporting the resulted report to Excel generates the following layout:
